SDG&E Helicopter Access for Transmission Structures (HATS) Project
PROJECT DETAILS
Patriot General Engineering completed a challenging and highly successful Helicopter Access for Transmission Structures (HATS) project, demonstrating exceptional coordination, safety, and execution in rugged terrain. The project involved a full scope of helicopter operations, including precise long-lining, heli-pad installation, and consistent LZ (Landing Zone) grading and maintenance to support aerial logistics. Crews completed extensive clear and grub operations to prepare the site, followed by controlled rock breaking and removal to make way for helicopter pads and TSAP (Transmission Structure Access Path) installations. The team also delivered hand-dug pier foundations and hand-graded pads to support micro pile installations, ensuring structural stability in remote, hard-to-reach locations. This project showcased Patriot General’s expertise in complex access construction and their commitment to delivering high-quality results in demanding environments.
